Approximately 650 Youth and Government students attended the Model Government in Harrisburg recently. 18 high school and 8 middle school students from Knoch participated.
Nearly all Bills written by our club were presented in committee were passed. Bills from Jacob Mock, Claire Lindsey, and Joseph Knochel also made it to the floor for debate. Jacob Mock (sponsor) and John Mack (co-sponsor) had a Bill passed into law and signed by the Youth Governor.
Emily Ciganik and Kristina Pagonis presented their case at a tournament-style Mock Appeals Court and qualified for the semi-final round (out of approximately 60 teams).
John Mack was selected to attend CONA (Conference of National Affairs) in July, and Joseph Knochel was named as an alternate. Emily Ciganik will also travel this summer and was chosen to attend the National Judicial Program. Only 25 delegates from across the state are selected for CONA and 8 for NJC.
Congratulations on a great showing in Harrisburg, Knoch Youth and Government!
