KIES 4th grader Emmerson Jones was able to participate in Carnegie Mellon University's Moving 4th to Engineering program this year. The program was held virtually for four Saturdays this fall.
Moving 4th into Engineering is a program designed to excite fourth graders about engineering concepts.
Over the course of the program, students worked together in teams to create a unified Rube Goldberg machine out of household supplies. Each team was assigned a CMU student mentor who guided them through the process. Students had to design and build their projects.
